I'm Catherine, the teacher behind Get Set Go English. I help non-native speakers of English to improve their English with easy-to-follow online resources and courses. My Story

My path into teaching wasn't exactly traditional, but all my experiences have shaped the way I teach today. It all started with a languages degree at university and some fantastic experiences living abroad. After university, I worked in the manufacturing industry as a business analyst where I picked up lots of business skills and project management experience. This role led to in-company training where I discovered a passion for the classroom and working with non-native speakers.

After completing the Cambridge CELTA qualification, I taught in both the UK and abroad. A senior teaching position and subsequent course coordinator role allowed me to combine my teaching and management skills. 

​

Since becoming a teacher, I've worked with many different schools, companies and teachers, and I have learnt so much along this journey. I've been self-employed now for more than 10 years and have refined my own courses, materials, and teaching methods to reflect everything I have learnt.

• I live in the UK and run Get Set Go English from my home in the countryside. ​

• I love systems and organisation - probably more than is normal.

• I believe English should be logical, not frustrating.

• I love travelling, road trips and exploring new places. 

• I keep my brain in check, I go for walks, do yoga, and swim. ​​​​​​
