Catherine Jones | Get Set Go English
Hello! I'm Catherine. My passion is inspiring non-native speakers to love the English language and level up their English skills.
How did I get here? Well, it wasn't exactly traditional, but all of my experiences have shaped the way I teach today. It all started with a languages degree at university and some fantastic experiences living abroad. After university, I worked in the manufacturing industry as a business analyst where I picked up lots of business skills and project management experience. This role led to in-company training where I discovered a passion for the classroom and working with non-native speakers.
How about my teaching experience? After completing the Cambridge CELTA qualification, I taught in both the UK and abroad. A senior teaching position and subsequent course coordinator role allowed me to combine my teaching and management skills.
What next? Since becoming a teacher, I've worked with many different schools, companies and teachers, and I have learnt so much along this journey. I've been self-employed now for 10 years and have refined my own courses, materials, and teaching methods to reflect everything I have learnt.
How can I help you? My objective is to create key breakthrough moments for the student, and I have an approach which ensures accelerated progress throughout the learning journey.
What about some adjectives? I am a meticulous planner and highly pragmatic in everything I do. As a teacher, my students describe me as enthusiastic and encouraging.
What do my students say?
Amélie, France
"I can already see the benefit of your lessons. One hour with you is like two hours with my previous teacher."
Iliani, Greece
"Thank you for the way you guide and push me to learn more. From the passion you show for your subject to your willingness to help, I have to say that you have made this class unforgettable!”
Grischa, Switzerland
"Our weekly lesson is like a ritual to get out of busy work life."

Policies - boring but very important
I believe in creating a safe, welcoming, and professional space for both students and staff. I’ve put together policies that follow the latest government guidelines for schools, so everyone feels respected and supported.
My aim is to prevent issues before they arise by planning carefully, assessing risks, and providing regular training. But if something unexpected does happen, my policies are there to guide us through it and make sure everything is handled with care.
If you’d like to know more about my policies, just let me know!
